Whether its tackling blackberry bushes or clearing up storm damage, Lockwood Excavations’ Diamond Mowers EX Brush Cutter Pro X 50” mulcher attachment can get the job done
For Lockwood Excavations owner Josh Brooks, having a Diamond Mowers 50-inch EX Brush Cutter Pro X attachment for his excavator has meant that everything from grass to trees can be tackled quickly and easily.
From Lockwood Excavations’ base near Bendigo, the land clearance company has been operating across Victoria for the past six years. The EX Brush Cutter Pro X is just one of many vegetation management attachments in the series from Diamond Mowers, sourced from Australian distributor Colbrook Industries.
“We work with government bodies like shire councils as well as in forestry,” Brooks says.
“We do a mixture of everything, from vegetation to general earthworks to flood recovery clearance work, mostly around central Victoria, but we’ll go wherever the client needs us.”

Lockwood Excavations is running the 50” EX Brush Cutter Pro X on a 15- tonne Hyundai excavator, as well as another Diamond Mowers product, the 72” SK Brush Cutter Pro X on a 259D3 Cat compact track loader.
Brooks says, with the company having run Diamond Mowers attachments for several years and with Colbrook Industries providing expert knowledge, the EX Brush Cutter Pro X was a clear choice for the work the business was taking on.
“We’re mostly handling blackberry and gorse bushes, with some grass mowing as well, along with highend brush like cumbungi [bullrush],” Brooks says.
“The way the blades rotate means that they don’t bind up – they just process the material really well, especially with the extra guarding that we put on. It can mulch everything from saplings to larger tree work as well – up to about 200mm in diameter. It’s a really good, versatile machine.”
The EX Brush Cutter Pro X 50” runs the Diamond Mowers’ Proprietary Tri-Hex Disc which provides greater inertia in tough conditions, the discs are 50,000 PSI rated steel for unparalleled durability, and the 3 easy to maintain, hardened steel knives are built to swing, allowing them to break away when coming into contact with large rocks.
“They’re easy to clean,” Brooks says of why he likes Diamond Mowers attachments. “Maintenance-wise it’s very easy.”
Brooks says he would recommend Diamond Mowers attachments without hesitation, and backing up the Brush Cutter’s impressive performance is aftersales support from Colbrook Industries. “The service we receive is 100 per cent,” Brook says. “If anything goes wrong I can just call them and somebody will be here straight away. That’s why I went with this machine; it’s the second one I’ve had from Colbrook Industries. Rob and the crew are always very helpful and will go above and beyond. “We’ve got that good relationship and it’s a great product – they look after us and that’s why I go back to them.”
